Our story

Built in the field. held to a clinical standard.

Phoenix Bioscience exists because the dogs that give the most were getting products built for the ones that give the least.

Why Phoenix Bioscience exists

Walk the supplement aisle of any pet store and you will find shelf after shelf of promises. Bacon-flavored optimism, mostly. What you will not find is much evidence, of what is in the jar, of why it is dosed the way it is, of whether any of it holds up in a dog that swims two hundred retrieves a week or runs trials in August heat.

We started Phoenix Bioscience to close that gap. Not with louder claims, but with better inputs: ingredients chosen for their mechanisms, formulated under veterinary leadership, and tested against the hardest audience we know, our own dogs.

Veterinary leadership

Every Phoenix Bioscience formula is developed under the direction of veterinarians with real clinical and performance-dog experience. That leadership shows up in unglamorous ways: ingredients left out because the evidence was not there, doses set by rationale rather than marketing, and claims written the way a clinician would write them, hedged, specific, and honest about what a supplement can and cannot do.

If we cannot explain why an ingredient is in the jar, it does not go in the jar.

A field-tested origin

Phoenix Bioscience was not sketched in a conference room. It came out of duck blinds before dawn, trial grounds in July, tailgates where handlers compare notes on sore shoulders and slow mornings. The people behind Phoenix Bioscience have spent years with working retrievers and pointing dogs, long enough to know that a product either earns a place in the truck or it does not.

The mission

Helping dogs live their best lives. That is the whole mission, and we mean it literally: more sound seasons, more comfortable mornings, more years of doing the thing your dog was born to do. Working dogs, sporting dogs, weekend athletes, and the good ones going grey around the muzzle, they all deserve formulas built with the same seriousness we would demand for ourselves.

The standard we hold

The goal is not another chew on a shelf. It is a product a veterinarian can stand behind, a handler can rely on, and a skeptic can interrogate. So we publish our reasoning. We render trademarks and source our branded actives properly. We keep claims inside the evidence. And we sell direct, so nothing about the formula ever has to bend to a retail buyer's margin.

That is slower. It is also the only way we are interested in doing this.
